Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson says manager Jurgen Klopp had no option but to play Diogo Jota against Manchester City due to his impressive form in recent games.
Amid a drop in form from Roberto Firmino, Jota has stepped up for the Reds since joining in the summer with seven goals in 11 games.But instead of playing his tried and trusted 4-3-3 formation at the Etihad, Klopp opted to play Firmino, Jota, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah in a 4-2-4 system.In the opening 20 minutes, Liverpool were the better side and they eventually took the lead when Mane was brought down in the penalty area and Salah scored from the spot.Gabriel Jesus levelled the match with a smart turn and finish past Alisson and the two sides cancelled settled for a draw.
