John Christopher Depp II (born June 9, 1963) is an American actor, singer, producer, and musician. He has been nominated for ten Golden Globe Awards, winning one for Best Actor for his performance of the title role in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2008), and has been nominated for three Academy Awards for Best Actor, among other accolades. He is regarded as one of the world's biggest film stars. Depp made his film debut in the 1984 film A Nightmare on Elm Street, before rising to prominence as a teen idol on the television series 21 Jump Street (1987–1990). He had a supporting role in Oliver Stone's 1986 war film Platoon and played the title character in the 1990 romantic fantasy Edward Scissorhands.

mirror.co.ukAmber Heard has been accused of "inventing" a rumour that Johnny Depp pushed his ex-girlfriend Kate Moss "down the stairs" into his libel trial in a "moment of unscripted malevolence".
Depp, 57, is suing News Group Newspapers for libel over a story published in The Sun in 2018 which branded him a "wife beater" - an allegation he vehemently denies.
The trial has reached day 16 and is expected to come to an end this afternoon. Depp has denied ever being violent towards his ex-wife, and claimed it was Heard who was abusive towards him throughout their relationship.
The actor's lawyer, David Sherborne, began his closing statements and addressed the moment Heard dropped a bombshell claim about Depp's supermodel ex during her testimony.
