Amazon shopper uses genius £20 product to transform her tattered sofas and saves thousands

A savvy shopper has revealed how she transformed her old sofas using a £20 product from Amazon. Mum-of-three Carmen Wilkes was tired of looking at her two tattered brown sofas, but could not afford to replace it.

Instead she decided to purchase dye from the online retailer to upcycle her existing suites - which helped her to avoid spending thousands on a new sofa.

Carmen bought three bottles of dye, which cost her £60 in total, and the result left her with a brand new-looking stylish grey sofa. "I was very hesitant about doing it at first so I waited probably six months before starting. "I purchased three bottles of dye from Amazon at £19.99 a bottle.

Doing this has saved me so much on buying a new sofa." Carmen explained the process which she said took her two days in total. “For the larger sofa, I did two coats with a sponge then the third coat I did with a gloss roller which gave really good coverage," she said. “I had to let each coat dry first but you can speed the process up by using a hairdryer. “For the second sofa I went straight in with a small gloss roller and it only required two coats. "It took me two days in total to do as I wanted to make sure that it was dried completely between coats."
