Aldi has warned of a new £250 voucher scam ripping off victims on social media. Fraudsters are targeting shoppers with bogus vouchers to lure them into giving out personal details.

The coupons have circulated on Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter and email via a special link. However, it leads people to a fake Aldi site designed to steal bank details shared directly with criminals.

Dozens of people on social media have warned about the voucher scam over the last month. Aldi told the  Mirror  it is not currently running a £250 coupon promotion in a warning to shoppers.

A spokesperson said: “The vouchers being circulated online are fraudulent."We advise customers to ignore these adverts and not to share any personal information."Aldi urged people
