Airdrie author praises pupils and staff as she completes tour of schools

AIRDRIE author Julie Hamill had a “wonderful time” as she returned home for a very well received book tour.The creative 47-year-old paid tribute to the “creativity and commitment” of pupils and staff at the four schools she visited and the “warm nostalgia” during her talk at Airdrie library.As reported in the Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser last month, Julie was keen to pass on her literary wisdom to National 5 and Higher pupils at Airdrie secondary schools St Margaret’s High – which she attended – Caldervale High and Airdrie Academy, as well as Dalziel High in Motherwell.Julie’s tour of the schools was arranged by her former teacher Robert Birch who is a big fan of her novels Frank and Jackie, which are both set in the streets of Airdrie.J
