World's richest tennis star and heiress to £4.5bn fortune through to French Open quarters

Billionaire heiress Jessica Pegula has progressed to the French Open quarter-finals after coming from a set behind to beat Irina-Camelia Begu.

Pegula prevailed 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 in the fourth round at Roland Garros. The world number 11 has now equalled her best Grand Slam singles result having reached the quarter-final stage at the last two Australian Opens.Victory has also secured her prize money of at least €380,000 (£323k) - but that figure pales in comparison to the fortune she is set to inherit from her father Terrence.

The Buffalo Bills owner has a net worth of $5.8billion (£4.5bn), according to Forbes.Having made his money in fracking, the billionaire businessman bought the NFL franchise with his wife Kim in 2014, to add to their ownership of hockey side Buffalo Sabres and lacrosse team Buffalo Bandits.Her family's mega wealth has also allowed them to buy a £60m super yacht, which according to superyachtfan.com can house 12 guests across six cabins with room for 18 crew on board too.So Pegula has no need to pursue a career in tennis, but has followed her passion nonetheless.
