John McEnroe questions "unbelievable" Emma Raducanu decisions after French Open flop

Emma Raducanu's decision to part company with coach Torben Beltz before this month's French Open.Raducanu beat Linda Noskova in her first ever match at Roland Garros but then exited the tournament after a three-set battle with Aliaksandra Sasnovich.

The British teenager went down 3-6 6-1 6-1, wasting a series of break points in the deciding set.Indeed, since her remarkable win at the US Open last September, the British No 1 has struggled for consistency.

She is also yet to settle on a full time coach, having sacked Andrew Richardson in the immediate aftermath of her win at Flushing Meadows - citing his lack of tour experience.She then trialled a number of coaches before teaming up with Beltz, who had previously taken Angelique Kerber to two Slam titles.

However, the pair split on the even of last month's Madrid Open, leaving Raducanu to fend for herself in Paris.And now outspoken pundit McEnroe has taken aim at the 19-year-old. "Honestly, if I won the US Open having gone through qualifying, I wouldn’t change my coach at least for the next year," he told Eurosport."So I don’t understand that move.
