Police were first alerted to the incident after reports of 'concern for a person'. Air ambulance and coastguard helicopters also attended.Volunteers from RNLI Macduff were called at 7.15am to assist with the operation.Photos shared by the rescue crew shows a helicopter hovering near what appears to be a steep verge down to the water.Crews battled against choppy waters with Portsoy facing the treacherous North Sea.The woman, aged 44, was treated ashore then airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by the Scottish Ambulance.
