Sir Paul McCartney, 79, has taken to Twitter to pay tribute to The Rolling Stones’ drummer Charlie Watts following the sad news of his death at the age of 80.
Paul recorded a heartfelt video message this evening to send his condolences to the late musician’s family and to the band.He said in the clip, which was shared with his 4.1 million followers, that although he knew Charlie was struggling with health issues, he “didn’t know he was this ill”.It comes after Charlie was forced to pull out of the band’s No Filter US tour, just weeks before his death.Charlie had to undergo an emergency heart operation and stepped down from the tour on the advice of his doctors, revealing at the time that his recuperation would “take a while".Sir Paul said:.
