hereA number of large vaccine trials are now due to take place, with members of the public being recruited as volunteers, before the vaccine can get regulatory approval.But people living in Greater Manchester might not be able to take part, as to be eligible participants must live or work in one of a number of specified areas.

Volunteers are being recruited for 15 sites covering the West Midlands, Thames Valley, the North East, Southampton, Greater Glasgow and Clyde, London, Hertfordshire, Sheffield, Merseyside, Hull and the East Riding, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Leicestershire, South Wales, Bristol, Edinburgh and Lothian and Cambridgeshire.
