Some grandparents will finally be able to hug their families in some parts of the country under new lockdown social 'bubble' plans from this weekend.
From midnight on Saturday June 13, single people living alone in England will be allowed to join together with one other household in a “support bubble” under certain conditions.
They won’t need to follow the two-metre rule - meaning they can hug, kiss, share childcare and meals, hang out indoors and stay the night for the first time since March 23.
This means some grandparents who have been separated from their loved ones for months can finally re-unite. However, it doesn't apply to everyone.
