Wedding guests at plush Scots venue banned from using hot tubs as 'cattle distressed by noise'

Late-night revellers at a wedding venue have been banned from using hot tubs after claims the noise upsets cattle in nearby fields.

The National Farmers’ Union (NFU) warned livestock could be “distressed” by the antics of guests at Bowfield Hotel and Country Club in Howwood, Renfrewshire.

Plans for 10 glamping pods in the hotel grounds were approved following an appeal to the Scottish Government – despite objections from farmers and neighbours.

But guests will not be allowed to use their hot tubs after 9pm. In a written objection, the NFU’s Keith Thom said: “There will be substantial additional noise which might cause distress to livestock in adjacent fields.”A resident added: “Neither planners nor the developers understand country
