Social distancing during the coronavirus means that many celebrations will be put on hold and can't be enjoyed in the same way, including Mother's Day.This year, more mothers than ever will likely be spending Mother's Day apart from their loved ones, as families self-isolate to prevent the spread of covid-19.
In an average year, 53 per cent of us – including plenty of celebs – make the effort to see mum on Mother’s Day, but this year’s figures are likely to be significantly lower as we practise social distancing.
Even for those who are not self-isolating, heeding the Government’s advice while celebrating Mother’s Day may be problematic, purely due to the distance from which many British adults live from their mothers.
