Scientists have warned that people over 60s should avoid face-to-face contact during the coronavirus outbreak. New research suggests that 7.3 million British people aged between 60 and 69 are at a high risk of severe illness and death from the virus.
In an article published in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, experts revealed that data from countries such as China and Italy found that those in their 60s had a high number of hospital admissions, Hull Live reports.
The UK government's current advice is for people over the age of 70 to shield themselves, regardless of whether they have medical conditions or not.
