Walkers explains why Cheese & Onion crisps packets are blue instead of green

And the brand even has a section on its website explaining the flavour's colours. On the website, it reads: "Our Salt & Vinegar and Cheese & Onion flavour crisps packs have always been the colours they are today." It added: "Contrary to popular belief, we've never swapped the colours around, not even temporarily. "We've got no plans to change these designs, as they're signature to our brand." According to Leicester Mercury, the blue packet colour is also something of a homage to the Midlands, where it's from.

And a 2015 YouGov survey found that people wanted the packaging to be changed from blue to green. It also found the blue packaging was the most popular among younger generations with 54% of people backing the packet's colour.Leicester butcher Henry Walker started frying up potato slices, lathering them in salt and selling them in packets back in 1948.
