Vladimir Putin's military chiefs may be lying to him about how badly Russia's invasion of Ukraine is going, western officials claim.Despite their loyalty to the President, army generals are believed to be uncomfortable sharing with him the true extent of the challenges and setbacks Russian forces have faced over the past month.
One western official believes the Kremlin top brass are too scared to tell Putin what is really going on over the border to avoid being hammered for their mistakes, the Mirror reports.Misjudging the strength of Ukraine's resistance is thought to have been a major error which Russia's military chiefs are suspected to have so far avoided admitting to their leader.
