Vitamin B12 is essential as it keeps your body's blood and nerves healthy. While being an important vitamin to the human body, it also prevents anaemia - a deficiency where your body does not produce enough red blood cells because the level of iron in your blood is too low.
Common symptoms of a vitamin B12 deficiency include fatigue, headaches and mouth ulcers and it can also make you feel tired and weak.
There are two signs on your skin and tongue that could indicate that levels of Vitamin B12 in your body are low. The NHS states that some people with anaemia caused by a vitamin B12 deficiency report having paraesthesia, or pins and needles as it is more commonly known.
The sensation feels like "pricking, tingling or numbness on the skin" and is often experienced in the hands, arms, legs or feet.
