Grant Gustin is saying goodbye to “The Flash”.

Water For Elephants, the Jessica Stone-directed musical adaptation of the bestselling Sara Gruen romantic novel, will play its final performance at Broadway’s Imperial Theatre on Sunday, December 8, having played 301 regular performances and 25 previews since February.

Lexi Carson The music and lyrics in Broadway’s “Water for Elephants” are expansive and a rich tapestry of American music ranging from folk, to swing, jazz and bluegrass. PigPen, a collective of seven musicians (Alex Falberg, Arya Shahi, Ben Ferguson, Curtis Gillen, Daniel Weschler, Matt Nuernberger and Ryan Melia) is also a theater company, and that uniqueness made them the perfect fit to bring the show’s music to life. The transition to bring the story to a stage first started in 2014 when PigPen Theatre Co., did a workshop with Rick Elice, “Water for Elephants” scriptwriter, for a different show.

Broadway’s first salvo of spring newcomers was more than holding its own last week, with recent arrivals drawing strong audiences.

Water For Elephants, the musical opening tonight at Broadway’s Imperial Theatre, is perhaps best viewed as a redemptive attempt to adapt Sara Gruen’s popular 2006 historical romance novel into something, anything, to block from memory the middling, grim 2011 film starring Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon.

 has officially ended its run. The hit series based on the DC Comics of the same name came to an end on May 24. The network announced the final season in August 2022, with Brad Schwartz, President of Entertainment at The CW Network saying in a statement, " will be remembered as one of the greatest shows in the history of The CW, and everyone involved in its excellent nine-season run should be very proud.
