BBC Breakfast presenters in meltdown as an unexpected guest visits the studio
BBC Breakfast hosts Roger Johnson and Luxmy Gopal welcomed an adorable guest into the studio and couldn't handle the cuteness as they interviewed the handler. The duo spoke to an officer from the RSPCA about the overwhelming numbers of animals they are receiving due to improper care and education about animal owning and handling. She said that the organisation are setting up pet food banks to help people who "don't have enough money to feed themselves" and are instead spending their earnings on pet food.READ MORE: BBC Breakfast Naga Munchetty scolds Charlie Stayt after unusual punching requestThe officer also noted that the animal charity are having to build bigger rabbit blocks on their sites just to house the sheer number of bunnies that are being rescued.Throughout the interview, the officer was dressed in her RSPCA uniform - a white shirt, tie, badges and black trousers. - and was holding an unexpected visitor. She held a newborn puppy in her hands and she sucked on the officer's thumb the whole time she spoke to Roger and Luxmy. After she highlighted the concerns raised by the charity, the presenters gushed over the "well-behaved" animal and Roger leaned across to give her a stroke. They couldn't stop looking at the puppy and seemed besotted by its calm temperament and tiny size. The officer urged people to educate themselves as the RSPCA "are not about telling people off" but instead want to help pet owners across the country.A fan on Twitter commented on the sweet exchange: "Cute little puppy."This is a live TV story and is being constantly updated.

BBC Breakfast's Tina forced to host solo as Roger Johnson makes abrupt exit mid-show
BBC Breakfast were down to just one host on Sunday's episode (June 12) after Roger Johnson had to swiftly make an exit for work purposes. With 14 minutes left on clock, stand-in presenter Tina Daheley was left to go it alone after her co-star had to dip out to read the news elsewhere.Holding the fort, Tina did a splendid job wrapping up the remainder of the show without the assistance of a co-presenter at her side.Updating viewers on the schedule switch up, Tina explained: "And on that note, this is where we say goodbye to you Roger."He chirped back: "Yes I am off. Thanks for watching and have a great day.""You're off to read the news," interjected Tina, before heading over to a last look at the weather with Chris Fawkes. It isn't the first time the show has been short on staff during the weekend presenting shifts after Katherine Downes abandoned the set back in January.Much like Roger, Katherine had also faced issues with a conflicting schedule and was given no choice but to make an early departure from the show. This meant that host Chris Mason was left alone to take the reigns - much like Tina on today's programme. At the time, Chris explained that his co-star's hectic work schedule - which included a flight to China - had been to blame for her sudden disappearance.

BBC Breakfast in chaos as weather star is 'booted from studio' in technical blunder
BBC Breakfast suffered a major technical blunder which ruined a weekend weather segment. The flagship BBC One breakfast show saw weekend hosts Victoria Derbyshire and Roger Johnson take the reigns on Sunday (May 1), but it all went wrong when they tried to get the latest weather updates. The hosts handed over to BBC weather star Louise Lear, who told viewers all about what conditions they can expect from the May bank holiday weekend.Louise gave a professional weekend weather forecast, but her segment was cut short by a glaring technical gaffe which saw her vanish from the studio completely. To make matters worse, host Roger had been talking to Louise when she disappeared to reveal a blank screen, so he wasn't able to finish what he was saying.Presenters Victoria and Roger were left baffled by the blunder, but Victoria quipped Louise had 'had enough' of her co-star Roger.Reacting to the gaffe, Roger said "oh, off she went" before joking "someone's pulling the plugs out all over the place" in the studio.Victoria then teased: "She's had enough of you!", suggesting she must have decided to leave the video link early instead being forced off of the screen by a tech issue. The hosts burst out laughing before trying their best to move on with the show.Breakfast suffered another major gaffe this weekend when Naga Munchetty accidentally confused PM Boris Johnson with disgraced tennis star Boris Becker. She was telling viewers about the news Boris Becker had been jailed on Friday afternoon after hiding £2.5million worth of assets and loans to avoid paying off debts. The six-time Grand Slam champion was found guilty of four charges under the Insolvency Act and has been jailed for two and a half years. There's MUCH more where that came
