Vinnie Jones says wife Tanya’s heart transplant ‘saved his life’ as well

Vinnie Jones has opened up on his wife Tanya’s heart transplant, saying it saved his life, not just hers. Tanya had a transplant after suffering heart failure following the birth of her daughter at the age of 21.

Now the former footballer-turn-actor has said the procedure three decades ago was a ‘fantastic gift’ to the whole family. In an interview with BBC Inside Out, Vinnie said this week: ‘Tans had a transplant after her heart collapsed giving birth and we lived with that for ever more.

It was a fantastic gift that we were given. ‘If you kneel down in front of the pearly gates and say: “Give us five more years with her, give us 10 years” – you take that.
