Posh Spice, who alongside husband David Beckham has an estimated net worth of £335million, jumped on the opportunity to pay 30 of her fashion company's team through the government's job retention scheme - designed to save jobs during the unprecedented coronavirus pandemic.

But she faced criticism from all corners for not using her own fortune to pay her workers, including from the likes of Ricky Gervais and Piers Morgan, who dubbed her a "pampered prima donna millionairess".
