Rallies against police brutality continued to swell across the US for an eighth consecutive night over the death of George Floyd - just as Donald Trump labelled rioters "scum".

Protesters ignored the Government-imposed curfew to hit the streets as the National Guard was called up in 29 states to assist in quelling disturbances.

According to local news reports, six people were arrested on Tuesday night in connection with looting of a pawn shop in Austin, Texas, as well as one in North Cahuenga Boulevard in Los Angeles.
