Met Office has revealed that a widespread dumping of snow will hit the UK in the coming days as the mercury looks set to take an icy plunge.
Other forecasters have even produced weather model maps showing that some parts of the country are expecting 10 inches of the white stuff for one day this month.
The Met Office have said that temperatures will be "turning much colder" over the weekend before the risk of wintry showers increases significantly for next week.
According to the their updated long range forecast, spanning from Monday to December 1, high pressure systems in the west will create volatile "unsettled conditions".
