A barrage of heavy snow from the Beast from the East 2 is set to continue across many parts of the UK with thousands warned to avoid travel.
Today will be another bitterly cold day with temperatures to plummet to well below freezing as Storm Darcy continues to pummel the country.
Severe weather warnings remain in place for snow spanning the entire length of Britain until midnight tomorrow. The Met Office is warning of 'frequent snow showers' leading to travel disruption with as much as 25cm of snow likely to build up in some areas.
Power cuts and injuries from falls have also been warned along with icy patches on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
