Two tiny sick orphan cats found dumped in locked bin by homeowner

Two tiny sick kittens with cat flu have been found abandoned and locked in a bin. The black-fur cats, named Barney and Fran, were found on Saturday with discharge around their eyes in a food bin outside a home in Lorne Road, Portsmouth.

Both cats were said to be too young to be away from their mum and had to be rushed to the vets for treatment. RSPCA Inspector Hannah Nixon was alerted to the animal abuse by member of the public, who came home to find his food bin on its side and the two "sleeping" kittens had been locked inside.

She said: “The man returned home on Saturday afternoon and noticed that his food waste bin had been knocked over and locked shut.
