dog being swept out to sea. Christine Robinson, 57, from Eastham, Wirral, died on the afternoon of July 6 2020, in the River Mersey at King's Parade, New Brighton, reports the Liverpool Echo.
She had been walking her pet dog with her son Niall when it was swept into the water while on a slipway.The pair then got into difficulty while trying to retrieve the pet.
Niall and the dog were both rescued in a major operation involving the RNLI, Coastguard, Merseyside Police and North West Ambulance Service.
But Ms Robinson, who worked as a pharmacy technician for Boots, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, despite the heroic efforts of the emergency services and passers-by.
