The north west will be hit by thunderstorms this afternoon (Monday 16 May), bringing heavy rain and the risk of both hail and lightning.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for north west England and Wales as well eight other regions, with the possibility of '20 mm of rain possible' in one to two hours.
It warned some homes and businesses might be at risk of flooding and a few buildings or structures could be damaged from lightning strikes.
The storms will be likely to cause disruption to travel in places, too, with spray and standing water or hail potentially leading to longer journey times by car and bus.
