cost of living crisis in a bid to ensure shoppers are able to stay well fed.Inflation might be pushing up the price of goods on the shelves, but Tesco has joined the likes of Asda and Morrisons in giving customers a low-cost deal in its cafes.First came Asda’s announcement last week that it would be offering a bowl of soup, a bread roll and unlimited tea and coffees to people aged over 60 throughout November and December for only £1.Tesco has now confirmed it will be bringing back its 'Kids Eat Free' scheme in its cafes over the October half-term as a way of helping family budgets to go further.The supermarket first introduced the initiative in the summer to help struggling families during the cost of living crisis.Here are the details on how to claim and what is on the menu.Parents can claim one free kids' meal worth up to £3.25.Shoppers can get the freebie meal with any purchase, the cheapest of which is a piece of fruit at 60p.Those looking to get in on the scheme must be a Clubcard holder.The freebie offer runs on weekdays from October 17 to 28 in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, applying to 311 Tesco cafes.It will also run between October 31 and November 4 in Wales.During the summer school holidays, Tesco says its cafes gave away free meals for more than 260,000 children.Alessandra Bellini, chief customer officer at Tesco, said when announcing the total: “Kids Eat Free is just one of the ways we’re helping our customers to spend less at Tesco.“We know that costs can add up over the school holidays, so offering free meals to children with any item purchased at our cafes for an adult, is one of the ways we are supporting parents during this time.”There are breakfast options, as well as hot and cold lunch
