Tottenham are trying to sign a midfielder with Tanguy Ndombele’s future shrouded in doubt. Ndombele is considering his options after being frozen out in pre-season by new boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
And, with the Frenchman’s future uncertain, Spurs have drawn up a shortlist of targets to reinforce a key area of the squad.
They include Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso, Borussia Monchengladbach’s Denis Zakaria and Joao Palhinha of Sporting Lisbon.
Ndombele was not even in the squad for the recent friendlies with Arsenal and Chelsea - despite being declared fit. And the £55m France midfielder, who was a club-record buy from Lyon two years ago, is believed to be unhappy with the way he’s been treated.
