Brexit food shortages. David Duguid made the bizarre comment as he tried to downplay fears of food running out in less than three week’ time.
Labour MP Ian Murray said: “This is an extraordinary gaffe. “The Conservatives promised the British people they had an oven-ready deal, but David Duguid doesn’t even know what shape of pasta we will be able to cook. “His flippant remark is an insult to British businesses who are fearful for their livelihoods and the workers concerned about their jobs. “The Government needs to deliver on its promise, get us the deal and allow us to move on as a country.”Duguid's remarks came before Prime Minister Boris Johnson and European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen agreed to extend nailbiting Brexit.
