Brexit talks will continue after the UK and the EU agreed to extend the deadline in a bid to find a solution – meaning a no-deal Brexit is averted for now.Prime Minister Boris Johnson spoke to European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen today about the “unresolved topics” for a trade deal.They had set a deadline of Sunday to decide whether to abandon the negotiations or to keep going.In a joint statement they agreed to "go the extra mile" in an effort to find a solution after almost a year of negotiations.It will raise hopes a trade deal will be reached before the UK stops following EU rules on December 31.The statement said: "We had a useful phone call this morning.
