Celebrity chef and This Morning staple James Martin has sadly announced that he'll be taking a break from social media - following heartbreaking trolling.

James, 48, became the target of cruel online abuse after technical difficulties hampered an online cook-a-long he hosted, during which he talked fans through whipping up a fabulous three course meal.

He offered his sincerest apologies after fans reported freezing feeds and interrupted connections. Earlier today he penned his apology, and announced that he'd be stepping back from social media "for the foreseeable future" after experiencing "large amount of vile comments posted directly towards me."
