Tracee Ellis Ross, the comedian and actor who won E! Entertainment’s The People’s Choice Fashion Icon Award at the weekend, thanked her mother Diana Ross, “the Icon herself, not only for her great parenting and for not acquiescing to my many whimsical demands, but for her style and glamour that introduced me to the power of fashion”.
She thanked her father, Robert Ellise Silberstein for paying for some chestnut suede Ralph Lauren jeans; “I tricked him into buying me when I was 14”.
She thanked the voters for “validating my shopping habit”.And she thanked the Salvation Army and the Rose Bowl Flea Market for showing her that "style has nothing to do with money.
