There were emotional scenes at Manchester Airport on Monday as the US travel ban was lifted after 598 days. Grandparents flying out to meet grandchildren for the first time and excited families embarking on their first holidays together were among the passengers as the US reopened its borders to the UK after almost two years of travel restrictions due to the pandemic.
