Vogue, where we would pay a weekly (sometimes daily) lunch-break visit to Zara, John Lewis (‘The Mothership’), H&M or Topshop, all of which were a hop and a skip from the office.
The fast-fashion phenomenon was in full swing. A night out meant a new top. A wedding warranted an outfit overhaul. And then I had children.
I still loved fashion but the cost of childcare always had to come first.I soon learnt I didn’t have to buy into every trend.
I realised I could feel great – and up to date – if I pondered each item I was drawn to with more scrutiny. Learning from my experience, I’m hoping I can impart some advice each week on how to build your own future-proof wardrobe.
