A Tesco worker is claiming he lost his job because he had to self-isolate so could no longer commit to his shifts. Dominic Clark had only worked three shifts as shelf stacker at Tesco Extra Gallows Corner in Romford, Essex, when he was told he needed to isolate for two weeks.

The 24-year-old claims he called his employers to inform them of the worrying news and less than a week later he said he was stunned to receive a letter confirming "the end of [his] temporary contract".

In the letter a manager told him the supermarket "needed everyone's commitment to their shifts". Dominic believes the supermarket giant's action could encourage other staff to ignore Test and Trace advice for fear of losing their jobs.
