A new era of “True Detective” is on the way as HBO has recruited Mexican filmmaker Issa López (“Tigers Are Not Afraid”) to write/direct the pilot for “True Detective: Night Country” with Barry Jenkins (“Moonlight,” “The Underground Railroad”) set to produce.
