Tame Impala‘s Kevin Parker has sold his entire music catalogue to Sony Music Publishing.Per a report from Music Business Worldwide, Parker signed a global deal with Sony in 2020, giving them control of all future releases, both as an individual and as Tame Impala.
Now, however, it is being reported that a new deal has been struck and will also encompass all past releases as well.The details of the acquisition have not been announced.
Parker said of his partnership with Sony Music Publishing in a statement: “The idea of passing on ownership of my songs is one that I don’t think about very lightly, at all.
They are the fruit of my blood, sweat and creativity over all the years I’ve been a recording artist and songwriter so far.”He continued: “I have a lot of love and trust for the Sony publishing family and have only had great experiences with Damian Trotter and the rest of the gang worldwide.
