Pregnant firefighter rescues another driver in car crash before having her baby
firefighter who got into a car crash while she was pregnant rescued another driver before giving birth.Megan Warfield was nine months pregnant and just a week off her due date when she got into the smash in Maryland in the USA.Her car was damaged but she was able to free herself and get around to the driver of the other car before beginning to administer first aid. READ MORE: EXCLUSIVE 'Frightened' Putin 'getting closer to launching nuclear strike' warns ex-RAF chief The other car had been overturned in the collision and had trapped the driver – Megan waited with them until emergency services arrived.She has since been hailed as a “true public servant” for her brave act.Despite needing to be checked up by medics she was given the all-clear for any injuries of her own and was able to be on her way.Less than a day later she gave birth to a little girl, NBC 15 reports.In a post on Facebook, Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Rescue & Marine put up a message celebrating Megan and her heroic actions.It explained that in recent months she had been working in admin, rather than on the front lines of firefighting, as she waited for the birth of her child.The post said: “Just a week or so shy of her due date, Megan had just finished organising and hosting her late father's second annual memorial golf tournament when she was involved in a significant motor vehicle collision.“Ignoring any chance she could be injured, Megan immediately exited her mangled vehicle and began providing care to a person trapped by their overturned car.
