In a region as big as Greater Manchester, it can be difficult to know where are the best areas to live. Each year The Sunday Times puts together a comprehensive guide of the Best Places to Live in the UK - and this year it featured three areas in our region.

Ariana DeBose became a viral sensation last month after she performed an original number at the BAFTAs in which she rapped some lines about the female nominees including, “Angela Bassett did the thing.”

Disney is currently in the works on a Lilo & Stitch live-action movie and the studio has found a young actress to play the title role of Lilo!

Maia Kealoha’s film career will hit the ground running. Deadline has confirmed that the newcomer has been cast as Lilo in Lilo & Stitch, Disney+’s live-action version of the Hawaii-set 2002 animated pic.

Angelique Jackson It’s Monday afternoon and Quinta Brunson, creator, writer and star of “Abbott Elementary,” is about an hour away from walking into 30 Rockefeller Plaza for her first meeting with the writers of “Saturday Night Live.” She’s been a fan of “SNL” since childhood, watching the series with her family growing up in Philadelphia. Now, on Saturday night, she’ll make her Studio 8H debut with some of those friends and family — many of whom are based on the east coast — in the audience to cheer her on.  “It’s surreal. I’m just taking it day by day — like I normally do because everything is so surreal nowadays — but this one’s really exciting,” Brunson tells Variety, calling from New York City. “‘SNL’ is the reason I even started pursuing comedy as a career, to be asked to host is just unreal. I can’t believe that I’m here and that it’s actually happening. It’s one of those ‘pinch yourself’ moments, for sure.” 

Three areas of Greater Manchester were named in The Sunday Times' Best Places to Live list this year. The judges chose Ancoats, Sale and Stockport to feature as some of the best areas to live in the UK, along with four other areas in the north west region.

Earlier this month, The Sunday Times unveiled its Best Places guide for 2023 and named Dunkeld as the 'Best Place to Live in Scotland'.

Half a million people were taken through the journey of the show in theaters across the U.K. It concluded a 14-week run at London’s Apollo Theatre earlier this month.

Rebecca Rubin Film and Media Reporter “The Haunting of Hill House” writer Jeff Howard has been hired to develop Junji Ito’s manga “Bloodsucking Darkness” into a live-action feature film. Fangoria Studios, a genre film and TV company, is backing the film. It’s set to be the first of three projects that Fangoria plans to adapt from Ito’s hit vampire series “Smashed: Junji Ito Story Collection.” “Fangoria Studios is going to adapt my manga! I’m so excited to see how it will turn out,” said Ito, who is serving as a producer. “I hope I get to see the trailer in my dreams tonight.” Ito began his career as a manga horror writer while working as a dental technician. Manga became his full-time job in the late 1980s and in 1998 as he began writing and illustrating “Uzumaki” in Big Comic Spirits. Since then, he has continued to publish works such as “Gyo” and “Smashed.”
