Foals gave their new album’s title track ‘Life Is Yours’ its live debut during a show in Newcastle this week – check out fan-shot footage below.The Oxford band’s seventh studio album ‘Life Is Yours’ is due to be released on June 17, with the trio currently on a UK tour throughout this month and May.On Tuesday (April 26), they hit Newcastle’s O2 City Hall, where they performed album tracks ‘2am’, which was released as a single back in February, and ‘2001’. Both tracks were given a live debut when they kicked off the tour at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall on April 20.The following night at the same venue, they performed latest single ‘Looking High’ live for the first time.

Arcade Fire have released ‘Unconditional I (Lookout Kid)’, the latest single to be taken from their forthcoming album ‘WE’.The track was initially teased by the band on April 12, when frontman Win Butler posted a video on Instagram of a vinyl version of the album playing. “Next single is,” he is heard saying before a slow strumming song kicks off with the lyrics “Lookout kid trust your heart / you don’t have to play the part.”‘Unconditional I (Lookout Kid)’ has now been shared by the band on their social media, with a caption on Instagram reading: “There’s nothing saccharine about unconditional love in a world that is coming apart at the seams.

Working Men’s Club have shared a new single from their forthcoming second album ‘Fear Fear’ – you can listen to the track below.The brooding song, ‘Circumference’ is “built on the kind of crystalline, heaven sent synth lines that Depeche Mode or The Human League used to trade in” according to a press release.“I’m feeling alright now the time is passing by / The further we fall makes me feel fine,” sings frontman Syd Minsky-Sargeant on the track.It follows the band’s previous single ‘Widow’, which was released last month.The band’s forthcoming album, the follow up to their 2020 self-titled debut is due for release on July 15 via Heavenly (pre-order here).Minsky-Sargeant previously said of the new record: “The first album was mostly a personal documentation lyrically, this is a blur between personal and a third-person perspective of what was going on.“I like the contrast of it being happy, uplifting music and really dark lyrics,” he added. “It’s not a minimal record, certainly compared to the first one.

Fontaines DC have cancelled tonight’s (April 25) show in Boston, Massachusetts, after vocalist Grian Chatten was diagnosed with laryngitis.The Irish band is currently on a run of sold-out or upgraded US shows, and were meant to play at the Paradise Rock Club, before headlining two dates at New York City’s Brooklyn Steel on April 26 and 27. As of now, those shows are still set to happen.“Unfortunately Grian has been diagnosed with laryngitis and has been advised to rest his voice for a few days,” the band shared on Twitter.They continued: “Therefore sadly the show at Paradise Rock Club in Boston tonight won’t be going ahead.

Sam Fender has shared dates for an upcoming North American headline tour, which is set to kick off this July in Toronto.The new round of shows comes after the announcement that Fender will be supporting select dates of Florence + The Machine’s US tour, including a stop at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on September 16.The headline tour is also set to stop in New York City on August 9 and in Los Angeles on August 15. The Fratellis have opened up about their music being described as “indie landfill” in a new interview.Speaking to NME, the band were asked about Vice rating their hit song ‘Chelsea Dagger’ number one on a list entitled ‘Top 50 Greatest Landfill Songs Of All Time’.Discussing the list and the term, frontman Jon Lawler said: “I didn’t see it [the list], but I live in my own bizarre little world…But I remember the first time I heard the ‘indie landfill’ term being used, I thought: ‘I bet they’re referring to people like us’.“Some might think it’s snobbery, but let’s face it, we’ve all got a bit of the snob about us – I certainly have. ‘Chelsea Dagger’ produces this sort of total abandon that’s a pleasure to stand back and watch.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs, is releasing his instrumental suite ’41 Strings’ digitally and on vinyl for the first time this summer.The collection, which is made up of four movements that mirror the seasons, arrives on July 1 via Chaikin Records – a label imprint run by Zinner’s Yeah Yeah Yeahs bandmate, Brian Chase.You can listen to one of the songs from the collection, ‘Fall’, here:The collection first premiered in New York in 2011 and was a commission for the 41st anniversary of Earth Day. Succession star Nicholas Braun is working on a series centred on an indie band in the 2000s.The actor, who is best known for playing Cousin Greg in the hit HBO show, is co-writing One For The Road with Chris Buongiorno (Spider-Man: No Way Home) for the same network.The half-hour show will be an intimate and candid story focused on a talented but chaotic band in the changing landscape of indie rock in the early noughties as they struggle to survive.The show is currently in the development stage, according to Variety, with Braun and Buongiorno also acting as executive producers.One For The Road isn’t the only writing work Braun has been involved with lately, the star revealing last year that he was developing the script for a “social horror movie” about reality shows.“I find reality shows to be kind of horrific,” he told GQ, explaining that he had been watching reality shows while in lockdown.During lockdown, the actor was also signed to Atlantic Records on the back of creating song ‘Antibodies (Do You Have The)‘, which was played more than a million times across Spotify and YouTube.Meanwhile, Succession writer Georgia Pritchett revealed last month that Braun’s character Greg was nearly written as gay on the HBO series.“It’s interesting how characters take on a life of their own,” she said on the Homo Sapiens podcast.“I had sort of advocated for Greg to be gay – until last season he hadn’t really done anything with anyone.” Pritchett went on to state her belief that the Roy children also move “in a circle where I think anything goes”.“I don’t think anyone’s closeted or not gonna do what they want to do,” the writer added, suggesting Kieran Culkin’s character Roman “feels a bit fluid and pan”.“I don’t think he’d hold back
