A suspect charged with killing a 21-year-old British man in Spain reportedly knew the victim from their home town. Shocked locals found Ben Nesbitt with knife wounds in the street during the early hours of October 1 in Rojales on the Costa Blanca.
Police said the victim, from Southport, then fainted and emergency services were sadly unable to save him. A 38-year-old British man was arrested in Girona, northern Spain, on October 2.
He has since been charged with homicide and was denied bail when he appeared before a court in the Alicante area. It has now been reported by the Liverpool Echo that the suspect is also from Southport, Merseyside, and knew Ben well.
