Strictly judge Shirley Ballas maintains ageless figure with extreme 'plant diet'

Strictly Come Dancing's Shirley Ballas has revealed that she has had to adapt to an extreme diet due to repeated health concerns.

The 61-year-old has said that she tested other diets before landing on the “plant paradox” plan, along with regular yoga classes.

The diet follows strict rules and claims that some fruits and vegetables are not as healthy as they are made out to be. It forbids lectins, which are “carbohydrate-binding proteins found in legumes like beans, lentils or chickpeas, grains and ‘nightshade’ vegetables” like tomatoes and bell peppers.The Strictly Come Dancing judge is following the theory which was first brought to light by Steven Gundry, a US doctor, who claimed that lectins can result in weight gain and chronic diseases.However, there is sparse evidence to prove this theory - but Shirley has taken the lifestyle change in her stride.She told Closer magazine: “I struggled during the pandemic, that’s for sure.

I’m doing yoga again now and I’m on my 33rd class in a row without stopping.”Shirley continued: “I’m also doing a plant paradox diet.
