UK and left thousands of people without power — but the incoming Storm Eunice could be even worse with snow expected.Met Office yellow weather warnings remain in place for much of the country today (Thursday 17) after a day of gale-force winds on Wednesday saw hundreds of train services cancelled and some roads blocked off by falling trees.

The effects of Dudley could be seen across the UK as Capel Curig in Wales experienced gusts of 81mph while Emley Moore in Yorkshire saw 74mph winds, and a bemused onlooker discovered a strange-shaped cloud in Glasgow.Thousands of people were also without electricity across northern England on Wednesday night according to Manchester Evening News, with emerging reports that power might not be restored in some places until Friday morning.More severe amber warnings are now in place across the south of England and Wales for Friday as Storm Eunice moves in and threatens to dump several inches of snow across the UK alongside further winds of up to 100mph.According to WX Charts, the Scottish Highlands is set for up to 12 inches of the white stuff tomorrow, with significant flurries also hitting Northern Ireland, Wales, northern England and the Midlands.
