'Stick to the rules and we can stay open', say Perth pub owners

Perth and Kinross are today faced with a new wave of COVID restrictions. The Twa Tams pub on Scott Street was way ahead of the government – by implementing a 10pm closing time since they reopened in July.

From today, pubs and restaurants will need to close at 10pm to try and fight the spread of the coronavirus. Perth and Kinross Council could face cuts of up to £136 million over the next six years General manager at The Twa Tams Eve Taylor called on people to follow the rules to avoid a second full lockdown.

She told the PA : “We are erring on the side of caution. We have been following the rules and restrictions needed. “As soon as we reopened we made a conscience decision to make it a 10pm closing time.“So it is not going to affect us too.
