Pubs in the Liverpool are set to be forced to close under new lockdown rules - but restaurants could stay open. Local leaders have been locked in discussions with the government over new restrictions in the coronavirus hotspot.
The new rules are expected to be announced by the Prime Minister tomorrow. The city will be placed into the highest tier of a new system aimed at simplifying restrictions in the country.
The Liverpool Echo reports that local leaders have pushed for restaurants to be allowed to stay open under the new measures, expected to come in from Wednesday.
