South Lanarkshire Council have announced that some maintenance services will resume as of this week. It comes after a barrage of complaints from residents in East Kilbride and elsewhere about overgrown grass at cemeteries and roadways and lack of maintenance on greens and lawns including bowling clubs and other outdoor leisure areas.

However, social distancing measures will be in place to transport staff to and from the sites, which mean the services will operate at a reduced capacity.The following range of services will be reintroduced on a phased basis starting this week:• Golf Course Maintenance• Bowling Green maintenance• Road Verge Maintenance• Mechanical Sweeping• Weed Control• Play Area Inspections• Grass Cutting – Cemeteries• Grass
