Sir David Attenborough has vowed to not return to Instagram after deactivating his account. The beloved conservationist and wildlife documentary filmmaker, 94, joined Instagram in September and broke the then-record for being fastest account to gain a million followers.
Despite using the social media platform to declare that "the world is in trouble" as a result of the effects of climate change, Sir David subsequently deactivated his account in November.
Now the icon of British television has discussed the thinking behind this decision when speaking to Greg James on BBC Radio 1 Breakfast.
Sir David told Greg: "I'm so old I can't get used to all these new media but I was persuaded to do so in order to do a message about conservation. "
