SIMON Cowell will spend three months in Malibu with fiancé Lauren Silverman as they plan their wedding. The 62-year-old proposed to Lauren, 44, in January during a romantic holiday to Barbados.

Now The Sun can reveal The X Factor judge Simon will jet to his house in Malibu so he and Lauren can work on their dream day - and we're told they're going to surprise everyone with the plans.

A source said: "Simon and Lauren don't want a big showbiz style wedding. "They really just want an intimate affair with close family and friends, which may surprise a lot of people." While Simon, who shares eight-year-old son Eric with Lauren, is there to share his thoughts on the big day, he's letting her make all of the big decisions.

The source added: “Simon will spend three months in Malibu going through the details and finalising plans. Lauren is excited to plan their perfect day." Romantic Simon popped the question in front of Eric and step-son Adam, from Lauren’s first marriage, on Christmas Eve. .css-qu9fel{border-top:1px solid #dcdddd;}.css-b9nmbi{margin-bottom:16px;border-top:1px solid.
