Australian cricket great Shane Warne is using his gin distillery to produce hand sanitiser amid shortages due to a global coronavirus outbreak.

The company, SevenZeroEight stopped prouducing gin this week, in a bid to to produce medical grade 70 per cent alcohol hand sanitiser for Western Australian hospitals.

Shane and the company's founders, which include two WA surgical specialists were the ones to make the pivotal decision. According to a statement by Warne, two Western Australia hospitals will receive the sanitiser.

Although the names of the hosptials were not made public, the move is a big one, particularly during trying times. "This is a challenging time for Australians and we all need to do what we can to help our healthcare
